It's time to officially announce Emilie Maynor, LLC and my plans for this wellness adventure. I'm ready to take you guys on a nutritional journey! Please follow along to learn about recipes, lifestyle choices and yoga events to positively impact your life!
After four years in event planning, fundraising and nonprofit development, I left my job at Junior Achievement on April 8th, 2014 . As many of y'all know, I've been teaching yoga since 2010; but what you may not know, is that I have had a strong interest in healing the body through my food choices. This stems from my personal experience after many years living in nutritional dark. Over the past six years, I've learned that smart, clean nutrition doesn't have to be overwhelmingly complicated. I enrolled in May 2013 at the Institute of Integrative Nutrition to become certified in Holistic Health Coaching. It started as a way to enhance the information I provide to my yoga students, but has grown into an opportunity to make a bigger impact.
Through this training, I learned nutrition from a holistic perspective. It's not just what you eat, but how and why you eat food. I found a lot of people that see food, health, meal planning or even grocery shopping as overwhelmingly complicated. Many people feel as if figuring out how to feed themselves and/or their family just.....daunting. Eating and living well has become a chore that most people don't have the time or energy to deal with. That's where I come in. My intention is to help people uncomplicated food and nourish their lives. I am working with individuals and small groups to achieve a better quality of life.
I started leading workshops and seminars back in January and things have snowballed since then. I am currently working with clients who suffer from Diabetes, Celiacs or confusion and discomfort with food. Sometimes people know their path, but need an accountability partner - I'm there. Sometimes people need a complete meal plan and a grocery tour - I'm there. Each client is unique, so we meet once to evaluate your personal goals and needs, then create a plan based on that. Everything is completely customized to suit you.
